Thanksgiving Gather Wreath

While wreaths are traditionally round, who said they can’t be other shapes too?  A square or rectangular picture frame makes a great base to DIY your own seasonal wreath to hang in your home this Thanksgiving. The exotic bamboo details of our Arnhem frame make the perfect base for a home décor piece displayed during one of the most colorful seasons of the year. Play off the gold color and bring in more warm tones using artificial flowers and a dimensional banner. Supplies:

• Frame – We used Arnhem
• Artificial flowers
• Cardstock – orange and brown
• Patterned paper – yellow gingham
• Dimensional foam adhesive squares
• ZIG 3 way glue paper adhesives
• Hot Glue Gun
• Wire cutters
• Twine
• 2 small screws
• Gather Banner Cut File

First, cut your banner pieces using your die-cut machine, such as a Cricut. You can grab our SVG cut file in our supplies list above for free.

Next, assemble the GATHER banner using dimensional squares for the letters and ZIG glue for the background piece. Slide through the twine to get ready to hang in a later step.

Pop off the heads of the artificial flowers or use wire cutters to trim and separate them from the original stem.

Lay down a piece of protective paper on your working surface. Arrange the artificial flowers on the Arnhem frame's top left and bottom right corners and secure them with hot glue.

Screw two small screws to the back of the left and right sides of the frame and tie the twine from the gather banner on.

The Arnhem frame we used for this Thanksgiving Gather Wreath measures 28” x 18”. This larger size would typically include a standard hook and picture wire hanger, but since this is lightweight due to the lack of an acrylic front and the picture wire would show, we hung this frame using a sawtooth hanger.

Tip: when it comes to seasonal home décor, use that nail you already have on the wall and create seasonal artwork pieces the same size as what you already have hung.
